Preservation and Perseverance

1. The elect can never finally nor totally fall away, seeing the gifts of God are without repentance so that He nourishes in them all the graces of the Spirit unto immortality; they are kept by the power of God unto salvation, having been engraven upon the palms of His hands and their names having been written in the book of life from eternity.
   

2. Though they which are once engrafted into Christ shall certainly be kept by the power of God unto salvation, yet they ought to "beware, lest being led away with the error of the wicked they fall from their own steadfastness."  They ought to seek in prayer and in the study of the Word, growth in grace, knowing that he who continues unto the end shall be saved.
